TOBACCO

Tobacco is a plant in the nightshade family (Nicotiana), most commonly Nicotiana tabacum, that is cultivated for its leaves, which contain the addictive chemical nicotine.

What’s in Tobacco?

  • Nicotine: a powerful, addictive stimulant that affects the brain and nervous system.

  • Tar: a sticky substance formed when tobacco is burned; it damages lungs.

  • Carbon monoxide: a poisonous gas also found in car exhaust.

  • Carcinogens: more than 70 known cancer-causing chemicals.

  • Cigarettes

  • Cigars

  • Pipe tobacco

  • Chewing tobacco / Dip / Snuff

  • Snus (moist powder in pouches)

  • Hookah (shisha)

  • E-cigarettes / Vapes (contain nicotine derived from tobacco)

Nicotine Pouches

While nicotine pouches are considered a tobacco product, they don’t actually contain tobacco. Instead, these small white pouches are made of a type of plant fiber called cellulose. Inside each pouch is a blend of nicotine powder, sweetener, flavoring, pH stabilizers and other fillers.
